Icynene Insulation Products

Are you losing sleep, energy, and money due to leaks and inefficiencies in your home? Traditional fiberglass insulation normally comes in rectangular pieces called batts. Rarely are the pieces cut to the proper size, which can lead to compression, cavities, moisture and mold. Almost always, the actual R-value of the insulation will not achieve the batt’s rated R-value—a measure of thermal resistance to heat flow.

Icynene foam insulation, on the other hand, expands to fit gaps, irregular shapes, and hard-to-reach places. Installing Icynene insulation throughout your home can save you 50% on your heating and cooling bill while making rooms quieter and more comfortable.

Icynene Spray Foam Insulation Types

Icynene, the top spray foam manufacturer, offers two main types of spray foam:soft, open-cell spray foam and rigid, closed-cell spray foam.

Open-Cell Spray Foam Benefits

  • Spongy, low-density foam
  • Soft and flexible
  • Ideal for walls, attics, and cathedrals
  • Reduces sound transmission
  • Allows water leaks to drain through, which can help you identify leak issues sooner for repair

Closed-Cell Spray Foam Benefits

  • Rigid, medium density foam
  • Ideal for smaller space
  • Identified by FEMA as flood resistant
  • Effective in both interior and exterior applications

DFW Thermal Solutions offers comprehensive spray foam insulation for residential and commercial properties throughout the Dallas–Fort Worth area.

Blown-In Insulation

We offer a variety of blown-in insulation products, including fiberglass, cellulose, and mineral wool:

Fiberglass blown-in insulation is made from fine glass fibers and can be used in walls and attics for both new construction and existing structures. Fiberglass can come in batts, rolls, or loose-fill material that can be blown in using special equipment.

Cellulose insulation is another type of blown-in insulation that can be great at filling in the nooks and crannies that batt insulation tends to miss. It is typically made from recycled paper products, such as newspaper. The shredded material does a good job at filling areas around obstructions and preventing airflow.

Mineral wool can be purchased in both blanket and loose-fill formats. It is denser than fiberglass and cellulose and can be used in new construction and existing structures.

Batt Insulation

Batt insulation is one of the more common and affordable types of insulation available. It is most effective in areas without a lot of odd shapes, pipes, wires, or other obstructions. Since batts come in a rectangular shape, there may be many gaps in the insulation, which can negatively affect its ability to create a vapor, sound, and air barrier for your home.
